Samburu is host to indigenous animals unique to the region. Set in a rugged landscape with a backdrop of jagged mountains, Samburu hosts some of the best Lodges with cottages, bandas, single and twin rooms spread out along the stunning banks of the Uaso Nyiro river.
Day 1: Nairobi – Mt Kenya Region
After breakfast, drive through lush coffee and tea plantations towards the Mt Kenya region. Lunch will be at a base hotel from where you will be transferred to your tree lodge. Enjoy the unique experience of all night and unlimited game viewing. Dinner and overnight at a tree lodge surrounded by forest and overlooking an illuminated waterhole and salt lick.
Day 2: Mt Kenya Region – Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, transfer to base hotel for onward journey to Samburu. After lunch, a game drive to sight the resident wildlife species like the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the blue-necked Somali Ostrich that are rare elsewhere in the country.
Dinner and the night will be spent along the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River at one of the luxurious Samburu Lodges.
Day 3: Samburu National Reserve
Enjoy two extensive game drives today. Explore and traverse over some of the world’s most spectacular and exciting terrain. Overnight and meals at the lodge.
Day 4: Samburu National Reserve – Nairobi
Leave for an early morning game drive that promises to be thrilling. Return to the lodge/tented camp for breakfast and then depart for Nairobi.
