4 Days Masai Mara Camping Safaris

Masai Mara Game Reserve is a large game reserve in Narok County, Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Mara Region, Tanzania. It is named in honor of the Maasai people the ancestral inhabitants of the area and their description of the area when looked at from afar: “Mara,” which is Maa (Maasai language) for “spotted,” an apt description for the circles of trees, scrub, savanna, and cloud shadows that mark the area.

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara – the sights, sounds, colors and spectacle that spell Africa The African Magic. Arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive to get a closer look at the Mara. On the plains, with their endless vistas and enormous herds of grazing animals, look for the predators hidden among the acacia trees: Black-maned lion, Cheetah and Leopard among others. There are hippos in the Mara rivers and exotic birds everywhere. Returns to tented camp for sun downers, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Two game drives for the day to absorb the beauty and splendor of the Mara. In this country of breathtaking vistas, view its vast assemblages of plains game together with their associated predators. Mara has the largest population of lions to be found in Kenya. Other animals to be seen here include Buffalo, Black Rhino, Hippopotamus, Leopard, Cheetah, Common Zebra, Coke’s Hartebeest, White-bearded Gnu, Oribi, Warthog and Thomson’s and Grant’s Gazelles. The bird life of Mara is as profuse as its mammalian fauna. All meals and overnight stay are at the tented campsite.

Day 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Another full day of game drives to absorb the beauty and splendor of the Mara the second time. In this country of breathtaking vistas, view its vast assemblages of plains game together with their associated predators. Mara has the largest population of lions to be found in Kenya. Other animals to be seen here include Buffalo, Black Rhino, Hippopotamus, Leopard, Cheetah, Common Zebra, Coke’s Hartebeest, White-bearded Gnu, Oribi, Warthog and Thomson’s and Grant’s Gazelles. Day 4: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi

Leave for an early morning game drive that promises to be thrilling. Return to the tented camp for breakfast and then depart for Nairobi.
