Life in the island almost unchanged since the 14th century when the settlement was founded. The Lamu museum is on the waterfront, occupying a house once occupied by Jack Haggard, Queen Victoria’s consul in this then important outpost. Day 1: Nairobi – Lamu

12:00 p.m  transfer to Wilson Airport, Nairobi for flight to Lamu. The flight departs at 1:15 p.m and lands at Lamu at 3:00 p.m. On arrival you will be met and transferred by boat to the Beach Hotel on Lamu Island.

Day 2: Lamu

Full day at Lamu.Lamu is a town, an island and an archipelago. The archipelago is a chain of seven islands and a multitude of islets, separated from the main land at its narrowest part by a channel just a few meters wide. The town has an ambience of mediaeval romance that attracts those who are offended by the burdens of the Husstle and bustle of modern world. Life in the island goes on almost like it did in the 14th century when the settlement was founded. The Lamu museum is on the waterfront, occupying a house once occupied by Jack Haggard, Queen Victoria’s consul in this then important outpost. This museum is a small gem, housing a collection of Swahili artifacts, jewelry and crafts unequalled anywhere else.Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Lamu – Nairobi

 After breakfast, you spend the morning at leisure followed by lunch at the hotel. At 2:30 p.m ,  transfer to the airstrip for Nairobi departing at 4:00 p.m. Land in Nairobi at 5:45 p.m  after which transfer to the Nairobi hotel.
